Love each other or perish
Right after finals was over, we celebrated in Marche and Laundry bar. I gave myself excuse to play until results came out. Then it was Li's birthday surprise. Traveling to KLIA two days in a row and sending friends off. Catching up with friends - from kindergarten to highschool to college and uni mates. Shopping shopping!! Singapore trip was a blast. More Makanclub outings - bakkutteh and cookout at suetmay's! I hadn't stopped..
This year it was different. I moved on without reiterrating about last year as i have done the years before. I didn't took the time to, even after my finals. Or after the results were released.
Perhaps i didn't want to.
I blamed it on being busy, i have been going out everyday. I wake up to a new day and i'm rushing through it. Life's been a roller coaster ride ever since exam ended. Everyday i had something to do, somewhere to go. Perhaps I didn't want to slow down. Perhaps being bored meant I'll be wasting every minute of my precious time left before I start my clinical years. But every now and then I wished I could slow down, watch the sunset, take in the breeze (maybe endup coughing a little), play with my darling dog, read a book.
Which was what I finally did!! I picked up a book yesterday, one that i've bought few days ago after months of making a promise to myself to read this book after finals. TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE. Maybe it was just me being my emotional self. I am always amazed at how people facing death face it so calmly. So positive. So accepting. So strong. They make me sad. (I remembered reading a story abt this man with lower motor neurone disease in Readers Digest and sobbing at a restaurant. They must've thought this girl is crazy!) I tried putting myself in their shoes and wonder if I could ever stay so positive about it if it were me. I still get amazed. Tears streamed down my cheeks, and i was only at the second chapter.
I finished my book this morning. I would've finished it yesterday had i not been out, catching up with an old primary schoolmate.
The other day, we surprised nana by paying her a visit at her house before she left for Auckland. As we left, it was slowly sinking in, the fact that all your dear friends are leaving one by one, little by little. We're gona be continents apart. Those people we used to meet everyday in uni. laughed at lame jokes or not so lame ones. gossiped abt the same lecturers. screamed over darts and CS. (Oh which btw we played out last CS battle with the Melbers after Monday Cookout!)
Still my life is on a rush. I'm gonna start work on Friday. Me and LayIn just happened to walked into the twin towers med centre, asked if there were vacancies and minutes later were showed into the GM's office. And after a brief interview, we got hired! The GM was really nice, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the workcourse will be fine too ;) Wish us luck!
Well I'll start to take time to play with my doggie a while, time just to sit there and stare into the wall like i've always wanted when exams are around the corner.
But til then, today it's Anu's birthday lunch. Tomorrow, the Melbers will be flying off. Day after tmr, I'll officially be a working lady. Saturday, Kar Farn's 21st. The list doesn't end... yet I'm still enjoying this craziness when i'm not done absorbing the one that just passed..
